چکیده

Solute transport in streams is governed by a suite of hydrologie and chemical processes. Interactions between hydrologie processes and chemical reactions may be quantified through a combination of field-scale experimentation and simulation modeling. Two mathematical models that simulate conservative and nonconservative solute transport in streams are presented. A model for conservative solutes that considers OneDimensional Transport with Inflow and Storage (OTIS) may be used in conjunction with tracer-dilution methods to quantify hydrologie transport processes (advection, dispersion, lateral inflow and transient storage). For nonconservative solutes, a model known as OTEQ may be used to quantify chemical processes within the context of hydrologie transport. OTEQ combines the transport mechanisms in OTIS with a chemical equilibrium sub-model that considers complexation, precipitation/dissolution and sorption. OTEQ has been used to quantify processes affecting trace metals in two streams in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA.

Simulations of transport in one dimension

Advection-dispersion equation is solved in numerically by using combinations of differential quadrature method (DQM) and various time integration techniques covering some explicit or implicit single and multi step methods. Two different initial boundary value problems modeling conservative and nonconservative transports of some substance represented by initial data are chosen as test problems. ...

Na, C1, and Water Transport by Rat Ileum in Vitro

Interrelationships between metabolism, NaC1 transport, and water transport have been studied in an in vitro preparation of rat ileum. When glucose is present in the mucosal solution, Na and C1 both appear to be actively transported from mucosa to serosa while water absorption is passive and dependent on net solute transport. Removal of glucose from the mucosal solution or treatment with dinitro...

NON-FRAGILE GUARANTEED COST CONTROL OF T-S FUZZY TIME-VARYING DELAY SYSTEMS WITH LOCAL BILINEAR MODELS

This paper focuses on the non-fragile guaranteed cost control problem for a class of T-S fuzzy time-varying delay systems with local bilinear models. The objective is to design a non-fragile guaranteed cost state feedback controller via the parallel distributed compensation (PDC) approach such that the closed-loop system is delay-dependent asymptotically stable and the closed-loop performance i...
